3D Modeling Basics

Have you ever wanted to create your own 3D model but didn't know where to start?

In 3D Artist Pathway: Modeling Basics scholars will get an entry level introduction into 3d modeling. In this 4-part class we will learn:

-How to navigate Blender (edit mode vs. object mode, rendering views, toolbox essentials)

-How to manipulate base models (scale, move, rotate)

-Material Application

-Basic light setups

This class is ideal for anyone with a curiosity to learn more about 3D modeling. After learning the basics students will be tasked with creating their own custom robot. They will model their own base meshes; apply custom materials and create their own experience. This class is a perfect building block to start exploring other courses such as:

Character development

Material Development

Animation Basics

This course meets once a week on Tuesday for 4 weeks. This course is completely remote and meets at 7pm.

The start date for this course is January 6th 2025

3D Footwear

Students will use a computer as a fine art tool that provides an overview of digital art concepts. Students will learn about the structure of footwear by observing the past and learning how it has informed the present.

Students will also observe case studies on how sneaker culture in Hip Hop has shaped consumerism in pop culture.

This 6 week course will meet Thursdays at 7pm starting January 8th.
